This is the pattern the rate table on /measured/carrier-labor-rates was built to show, in a single document. Progressive holds body, refinish and frame at $56.00 on this document, as it does on 45 of the 59 Progressive documents in the corpus, and then allows mechanical at $225.00, which is what the shop posts on its own wall. A carrier that was simply suppressing rates would suppress that one too.
The ledger above is the carrier’s own Estimate Totals block, transcribed. 25.4 hours of labor comes to $1,591.40. Parts come to $5,551.91, most of it non-taxable. Paint materials are booked separately at $36.00 a unit against 10.9 refinish units. That is $7,668.92 gross, less a $500 deductible.
A second claim on the same vehicle, 11.3 hours and $344.73 in parts, added $1,333.27. Both are shown together in the figures above because a repair is settled per car, not per claim number, and reading either claim alone understates what Progressive allowed.
The shop’s own estimate for the same front end came to $13,922.94, driven mostly by a single structural part. That gap is not presented here as an error on anyone’s part. It is the gap this product exists to make legible before the car is torn down, rather than after.
The 2024 Ferrari on this site is the control. There the carrier allowed the shop’s own $125.00 body rate, and the two estimates finished 1.2 percent apart on labor and parts. Here the rate is $56.00 and they finish 54.7 percent apart. Same shop, same year, same estimator.
