The part number, not a description and a shrug
A line that says "bumper cover" is a line somebody has to go look up. A line with the number is a line that can be ordered.
What is catalogued
8,564 factory part numbers carrying list prices across Audi, BMW, Ford, GM, Mercedes-Benz, Mopar, Porsche, out of 15,551 catalogued entries. The distinction matters: a part can be catalogued without a price, and only the priced ones can be described as carrying list prices.
What carriers actually settled
Separately, 3,117 carrier-paid part lines were read out of the estimate corpus, 1,698 of them carrying an OEM part number. That is the more useful half: not what a part lists at, but what a carrier actually allowed for it on a real claim.
Coverage is uneven and that is published
The comp index that ships in the product holds 1,510 comparison lines across 28 makes. Coverage by make is lopsided, because it reflects what came through one shop rather than a market sample. A make with three comps behind it is grounded far less well than a make with a hundred, and the page for a thin make should not pretend otherwise.
Aftermarket and used
Carriers write plenty of work at aftermarket and recycled prices, and the corpus records the part type as the document stated it: New, Qual Recycled, OE Discount, Recored, Existing. An estimate that assumes OEM everywhere is as wrong as one that assumes aftermarket everywhere.

Where do the list prices come from?
Published manufacturer catalogues. They are reference prices, not quotes, and they are not represented as owned data.
Does it quote live parts availability?
No. Nothing in the product checks stock or discontinuation, and no line is presented as available or unavailable. Parts intelligence is grounded in OEM part information and the carrier-settled comp index. A marketplace price lookup does run after the estimate is validated, and it can fill a price the model left blank, but a carrier comp overrides it and it is not live availability. That validation path is under development and is not represented as production estimate grounding until it reaches it.
What about parts with no number?
They come back described rather than numbered, and the estimate says so instead of inventing a number. For OEM parts where a dealer quote is required, the line says that plainly.
Run it on damage you have already written
Accounts are created by hand, usually within a business day. Bring your own photographs and a repair order you have already closed, so you can see how close it lands before you decide. No card, no trial timer.
